Just bought the Ricoh Theta S and was about to transfer files from the device to my Mac (book pro begin 2015 running OS X El Capitan 10.11.2).
Unfortunalty the Theta software does not work properly. I installed Adobe Air and the Theta software (both latest version). However the screen remains white and i am not able to import any media files. See the attechement.
Anybody an idea how to get the software running?
Thanks in advance!

After posting my previous message this new information was announced with a possible solution. I've tried it, but unfortanaltely there is a new error showing up. see the attachement.
I says a new versio of adobe air is required to run the application.
Any new ideas?

I'm on 10.11.1 and I'm having the same problem.
I also tried it on another mac running 10.9.5 and experienced the same issues
Ricoh Theta app is a blank white screen and doesn't work at all.

I figured out how to fix the problem. The support information Ricoh supplied left off two more steps. Here's what worked for me:
(1) Uninstall Adobe AIR
Navigate to Applications > Utilities and double click “Adobe AIR Uninstaller”.
(2) Reinstall the old version of Adobe AIR
Open this page. https://helpx.adobe.com/air/kb/archived-air-sdk-version.html
Select, download and install the previous installer from “Adobe AIR 19 runtime downloads”. Adobe AIR 220.127.116.11 Mac (24.7 MB)
(3) Run the Install RICOH THETA app again and Uninstall the software.
(4) Run the Install RICOH THETA app again and reinstall the software.
It should work after that.

thank you for the help.
Now the ricoh theta app works but it won't let me drag in videos. Not sure why. The video is taken directly from the camera and is in the .m4V format.

I assume you used the Photos app to import it? Change the extention .m4V to .mp4 then you should be good to go. Use Image Capture to import the files instead to retain the .mp4 extention when importning.

Hi, so I have changed the extension to .mp4 as suggested. Now I can drop it into the Ricoh software, but when trying to convert it, it fails
'error: failed to convert video'
