Some days you just get lucky. My wife and I drove down to Denali National Park for a weekend from Fairbanks, and as always we drove in on the Park Road to the Savage River turnaround early in the morning with hopes of seeing some wildlife. As usual we were not disappointed, but the best shot of the day came as we were leaving. One of my favorite views on the Road is leaving the main area of the park, where you get to look over the Nenana River valley and can see the Alaska Railroad's crossing of the river.
As I pulled off on to the soft shoulder, I heard the train whistle and ran for my camera... and snapped what is so far one of my favorite all-time shots. Pentax K-30, DA 18-135mm WR, and a good timing.
